Support Groups are for survivors, family members, friends and caregivers and meet in all areas of the state. BIAK makes referrals to support groups throughout the state. All support groups are autonomous from BAIK.*
For most disabilities, improved medical care causes a decrease in the number of people with that specific disability. Because of the tremendous advances in medical technology and emergency acute care, the numbers of persons who survive a brain injury continues to increase. This produces a large, and growing new disability group. People with brain injuries are becoming the single largest disability group in our nation.

The Network helps survivors, families and others cope with the many changes and dilemmas faced when a family member or a friend experiences a brain injury. The Network is made up of a team of BIAK staff and volunteers who work with physicians, nurses, hospital and rehabilitation staff.
