SUPPORT GROUPS FOR BRAIN TUMOR SURVIVORS
In Kentucky support groups are formed in order to help the brain tumor suvivor and their family better understand brain tumors and to develop skills to help them copy with the effects of brain tumors. These meetings are usually help at night and are casual and comfortable.
Currently there are support groups for brain tumor survivors in Lousiville, Lexington and in Ft. Wright in Northern Kentucky.
In Louisville the MQBTP support group meets monthly on the 4th Tuesday. The group begins with a dinner at 6:00PM and the support group meets at 7:00PM. These meetings are held at Gilda's Club, 633 Baxter Ave.
Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital in Lexington hosts the site of the group in Lexington. Please contact Suzanne Kelleher at 859-367-7268 for more details.
The Wellness Community in Ft. Wright also has a support group for brain tumor/brain cancer survivors. For more information, call Kelly at 859-331-5568.
Brain injury and brain tumor support groups are open to all who experience brain illness or injury and their families and caregivers.
